IT Specialist

Job Description

The IT Specialist will play a crucial role as the overall IT Admin of the company, responsible for managing various aspects of the company’s IT operations. You will provide technical support by attending to user inquiries, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, and offering guidance on proper equipment usage. System maintenance will be a critical aspect of your role, involving the installation, upgrade, and configuration of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and applications according to company requirements. Additionally, you will conduct regular system maintenance activities such as updates and backups to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. Your expertise in system diagnostics and troubleshooting will be essential in identifying and resolving technical issues.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for network administration, managing and administering the company’s local area network (LAN). This includes overseeing user access, network security, and troubleshooting network-related problems. You will also provide user support, assisting employees with IT-related problems, delivering training or orientation on new systems or applications, and maintaining documentation and knowledge base resources. In the realm of procurement, you will research and recommend hardware and software solutions that align with company needs and budget considerations.

Information security will be a top priority, as you will be tasked with implementing and enforcing security measures to safeguard company data. This will involve measures such as data backups, antivirus software, firewalls, and user access controls, all in compliance with the company’s Data Privacy Policy. Lastly, you will maintain accurate records of IT and other office assets, system configurations, and generate reports as needed to ensure effective documentation and organization.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to work in an on-site set-up, which includes an afternoon shift from 3pm to 12mn.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or IT Graduate is required to fulfill the qualifications.
  • The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in IT-related work, demonstrating a solid foundation in the field.
  • Has working knowledgeable about system migration and IT solutions.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot complex technical problems efficiently, using a logical and systematic approach.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, coupled with a solid understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and applications.
  • Previous experience providing technical support to end-users, addressing inquiries, and guiding users on equipment usage.
  • Understanding of information security principles and best practices, including data backups, antivirus software, firewalls, and user access controls.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records of IT assets, system configurations, and generate reports as needed.
  • Openness to learning and adapting to new technologies, trends, and industry advancements
